Empowering Lives
"Our Mission : Removing Financial Barriers to Mobility"
“Volunteer DME Foundation was founded to help low-income individuals and families in East Tennessee access essential durable medical equipment — scooters, stairlifts, lift chairs, walkers, and repairs — by paying vendors directly. We believe no one should lose their independence because they can’t afford the tools they need.”
Why We Exist
“We saw too many people struggling — seniors stuck upstairs, parents unable to get to work, individuals missing doctor appointments — all because of broken or unaffordable equipment. State programs often won’t cover repairs on items already owned, and families can’t pay out of pocket. So we created a simple, transparent solution: we pay the vendor directly so the equipment gets delivered fast and compliantly.”
Our Approach
* No inventory or storage
* Direct vendor payments only
* Full transparency with donors( receipts, photos, impact reports)
* Low overhead - volunteer-led with clear financial controls
