Most Americans prefer to be cared for at home.  Older Americans in particular prefer home care over comparable care in nursing homes or hospitals.  Home care is always cost effective compared to hospital care. 

The average cost of a visit to a hospital emergency room is $10,000. The cost for a day in a nursing home is about $325 for room and board, or more depending on the required services. Comparably, the average cost of home care services is about $105 a day.

With the fastest growing age group today being people over the age of 85, and who report an average of four major disabilities, they are going to need help to remain home independently.  Home care is the logical way to provide care for the greater number of people needing care.
