Short-Term Goals
- Have at least one member in every Congressional district.
- Unify the message projected to the industry & Washington.
- Continue to work with industry and Congress to repeal competitive bidding (HR3790).
- Support HR2373, the bill to repeal the 36-month cap on oxygen payments. To achieve this repeal in a “budget neutral” manner, NAIMES has proposed a revised payment policy for home oxygen therapy.
- Continue to work with Congress for appropriate responsibilities and penalties for physicians and practitioners regarding the PECOS system.
- Support keeping the first month purchase option for all power mobility.
- Work with CMS to mitigate the effects of multiple administrative and regulatory audits, such as RAC, CERT, and ZPIC.
- Cultivate relationships with other entities supporting the goals of NAIMES.
- Have 500 members by the end of 2010.
Mid-Term Goals
- Continue to work with the industry and Congress to complete 2010 legislative agenda.
- Work towards changing the image of the industry through direct interaction and personal relationships with Congress.
- Support candidates in the 2010 election that support DME providers as a vital part of the health care solution.
- Launch the DMEHelp® PAC and begin building a war chest.
- Have $50,000 in PAC contributions by the end of 2010.
- Have 1000 members by the end of 2011.
Long-Term Goals
- Continue ongoing development of industry needs.
- Have 3,000 members by the end of 2012.
- Have $150,000 in PAC contributions by the end of 2011.
